2027 Subaru Getaway EV: Subaru’s Most Powerful 3-Row Electric SUV Arrives with 420 HP and 300+ Mile Range
April 3, 2026

Subaru just dropped a serious family adventure machine. The all-new 2027 Subaru Getaway EV made its official debut at the 2026 New York International Auto Show and is now the brand’s most powerful production vehicle ever. Built for U.S. families who want real off-road capability, three rows of seating, and EV efficiency, the Getaway joins the Solterra, Uncharted, and Trailseeker to round out Subaru’s growing electric lineup.

Performance: 420 HP Dual-Motor AWD Standard

Every 2027 Getaway comes with dual electric motors delivering 420 horsepower and standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Expect 0–60 mph in under 5 seconds, up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, and five selectable drive modes.

Off-road cred is legit thanks to 8.3 inches of ground clearance, Dual-Function X-MODE (Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud), Grip Control, and Downhill Assist Control. This isn’t just a tall crossover—it’s a true Subaru.

Range, Charging & Battery Options

The long-range model packs a 95.8-kWh lithium-ion battery with an estimated 300+ mile range. A standard NACS port gives instant access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers nationwide. Fast charging hits up to 150 kW, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Battery preconditioning is standard and keeps performance strong even at 14°F.

A more affordable 77.0-kWh standard-range version arrives later in 2027.

Spacious Interior Built for Families

The Getaway seats up to seven (second-row bench) or six with captain’s chairs. Subaru says six-footers fit comfortably in every row. Cargo space measures 15.9 cubic feet behind the third row, 45.6 cubic feet with it folded (more than the Kia EV9), and up to 80.6 cubic feet maximum.

Family tech includes a standard 14-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual 15W wireless chargers, and USB-C ports in all three rows. Heated/ventilated seats and a panoramic roof are available on higher trims.

Safety: EyeSight Standard on Every Trim

Every Getaway includes Subaru’s EyeSight suite with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, Traffic Jam Assist, and more. Higher trims add advanced parking assist and lane-change assist.

When Does It Go On Sale and How Much?

The long-range 2027 Subaru Getaway reaches U.S. dealers in Fall 2026 (late 2026). Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but expect it to compete directly with the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
