Kia just dropped a game-changer at the 2026 New York International Auto Show: the 2027 Kia EV3, its most accessible all-electric compact SUV, is heading to the United States with deliveries starting late 2026.
Kia offers two battery options tailored for the U.S. market:
These are manufacturer estimates, official EPA figures will come closer to launch. Both support fast DC charging from 10% to 80% in roughly 29–31 minutes. Every U.S. EV3 comes with a native NACS port and Kia Plug & Charge for seamless Tesla Supercharger access.
All models ride on Kia’s proven 400-volt E-GMP platform. Lower trims use a single-motor front-wheel-drive setup, while higher trims add optional (or standard) dual-motor all-wheel drive for 261 horsepower. The top GT trim boosts output to 288 hp and includes sport-tuned suspension, Virtual Gear Shift, and Active Sound Design for extra driver engagement.
At roughly 169.3 inches long with a 105.5-inch wheelbase, the EV3 has a nimble footprint similar to the discontinued Chevrolet Bolt EUV, perfect for city parking and daily commutes.
The cabin feels premium and spacious, anchored by a panoramic display (dual 12.3-inch screens + 5-inch climate control). Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with available head-up display, Harman Kardon audio, wireless charging, and Kia’s AI voice assistant.
Rear seats recline for extra comfort, and the flexible center console offers smart storage. Cargo space measures 26.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats (expanding to 56.5 cubic feet with seats folded) plus a small 0.9-cubic-foot frunk.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) is available (with optional equipment) so you can power laptops, camping gear, or small appliances straight from the battery—great for road trips or emergencies. Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability is also offered with compatible home setup.
Official U.S. pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but Kia has targeted around $35,000 starting MSRP. That would position the EV3 as one of the most affordable compact EVs, undercutting the current Niro EV and filling the gap left by models like the Volvo EX30’s U.S. exit. Expect final prices closer to the late-2026 on-sale date.
